What information do we collect and why

Dharma Life Sciences collects “PERSONAL DATA”, which includes any information that can be used on its own or with other information to identify or contact one of our users. We may use Personal Data to customize the app's interactions with you and to provide mentoring services in conjunction with the app.

We will only use or disclose your Personal Data when it is legally mandated or where it is necessary to implement the uses described above.

The user may opt not to provide personal contact information. The user will still be able to use the app but will not be able to make use of the mentoring services.

Specifically, we user your Personal Data for the following purposes:

To customize the apps interactions with you. Activities in the app present scenarios based on interactions with other people. The app records the results of these activities to be able to provide a mentor with the necessary data to provide services to the user. Phrasing and typical social interactions vary between countries. The user's country information is used to chose scenarios appropriate to the users location. This customization is required in order for the mentor to be able to provide the contracted services.
To provide a means to communicate with you in the case you opt to use mentoring services.
To provide the necessary data to allow a mentor to work with you. If you chose to use mentoring services this data is necessary for the mentor to provide the services you are contracting for. This data is shared only with the user's explicit consent and only when the users decides to send a report.
To handle technical support. The device model and os version are included in the reports for Dharma Life Sciences legitimate interest in providing technical support to the user.
For users of Dharma Discovery, the App id, App version and installation timestamp will be sent to a server in the United States for Dharma Life Sciences legitimate interest in providing technical support to the user.

	App ID, App version, Installation timestamp.	Stored on Dharma Life Science's server, identified by a hash code generated from the user's email address. Required if user opts to send reports. This information is collected only for the Discover Personality app. Provided for Dharma Life Science's legitimate interest in providing technical support.

Data Collection and Usage

If the user does not opt for mentoring services, then no data is collected or stored except for locally on the user's device.

As a user progresses through the activities in a Dharma Life Sciences App, the results of these activities is stored on the user's device. If a user wishes to work with a mentor, it is necessary for the mentor to be able to communicate with the client, to know the country the client lives in, and to see the results of the user's activities on the app. This data is necessary for the mentor to be able to guide the user and provide mentoring. Once the user has decided to work with a mentor, they have the option to send a report to their mentor. The report is sent only to their mentor. It is encrypted prior to being sent. Working with a mentor and sending reports is entirely optional. No reports are ever sent unless initiated by the user. Report data sent to Dharma Life Sciences is kept while the user is actively engaging with a mentor. Reports are stored in their encrypted report format by the mentor and accessible only to the mentor. If there has been no interaction between the Dharma Life Sciences mentor and the user for a period of two years all the user's data will be deleted. Reports are stored by the mentor and protected by industry standard security measures.

Dharma Life Science's apps may be used by licensed therapists. In such cases the therapist may opt to have their client use the app. If they do so, the licensed therapist will act as the mentor for the user. Use of the app will be initiated by the therapist with their client. The therapist is an independent data controller and the data handling is governed by the therapist's privacy policy. No reports will be sent to Dharma Life Sciences.

Dharma Discovery records information specific to the Discovery App (App ID, App version, installation timestamp) on Dharma's server in the United States. The information is identified only by a one way hash code from the user's email address to enhance security. If there has been no interaction between the Dharma Life Sciences mentor and the user for a period of two years the user's data will be deleted.

All data is secured using industry-standard encryption protocols (e.g., HTTPS/TLS) for data transmission and at-rest encryption on our servers.

Third Party Data Sharing

Dharma Life Sciences does not use any Third Party Processors to host, store or process any data. Dharma Life Sciences does not use any third party analytics or advertising.

Your rights related to your personal data.

You have the right to request a copy of the report that was sent to your mentor. As the report is generated from your activities in the app, you will always have a copy of all the data on your device.
You have the right to request that Dharma Life Sciences delete all data pertaining to you.
You have the right to ask that the processing of your data be restricted and to object to any further processing of your data
You have the right to object to your Device Model and OS version being used to provide technical support.
You have the right to rectify data that you believe is inaccurate or incomplete.

All requests in relation to the above rights should be communicated to your mentor or via email to privacy@us.dharmalife.info. Dharma Life Sciences will respond to such requests within 30 days.

Data deletion

To request that your data be deleted, send an email to privacy@us.dharmalife.info requesting that all your data be deleted. Dharma Life Sciences will respond to such a request within 30 days. If the user deletes the app from their device, all locally stored data is deleted.

Third Party data sharing

No data sent to a Dharma Life Sciences employee is shared with any third party outside of Dharma Life Sciences. The data is used solely for the mentor to work with the user in furtherance of the App's functionality.

If the user is using the app under the direction of a licensed therapist then the control of their data is governed by the therapist's license. The user should request and review the therapist's own privacy policy before opting to send reports to the therapist. Reports will be sent directly to the therapist and will not be seen by Dharma Life Sciences. When a user choses to use a licensed therapist as their mentor, they are sending their report directly to that therapist outside of Dharma Life Science's direct privacy control. Reports sent to the therapist are encrypted and sent directly to the therapist.

Age restrictions

Dharma Life Sciences provides mentoring only to users who are over 16 years of age. Any user contacting Dharma Life Sciences to request mentoring services will be asked to verify their age.

If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from a child under the age of 16 without verifiable parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information immediately.
